Water filter replacement

Filtration media has a working life. Replace it on schedule and the system performs exactly as it did on day one — flow, taste and all.

When to replace

Every 6 to 12 months, for most homes

The exact interval depends on your water and your household. Heavy sediment, bore supply or a large family will shorten it; clean scheme water and two occupants will stretch it.

Rather than asking you to remember, we track your installation date and cartridge schedule and email a reminder before each change is due.

Signs a change is overdue

  • Water pressure or flow has gradually dropped
  • Chlorine taste or smell has returned
  • Scale or spotting is reappearing on glass and tapware
  • It has simply been more than 12 months

Leaving cartridges in too long does more than reduce performance. A blocked sediment stage restricts flow through the whole house, and exhausted carbon stops holding what it has already captured.

Water Filter Replacement
Two ways to do it

Cartridges to your door, or a technician to your home

Replacement cartridges delivered

We identify the correct cartridges from your system record and post them out with step-by-step instructions. Most systems are designed for tool-free replacement — allow around fifteen minutes.

  • Correct cartridges matched to your installed configuration
  • Written and video instructions included
  • Phone support if anything does not go to plan

Technician change-out

A technician attends, replaces the cartridges, checks pressure and flow, inspects every fitting for leaks and sanitises the housings. You do nothing except let them in.

  • Full system inspection included
  • Housings cleaned and sanitised
  • Old cartridges taken away and disposed of

Questions

Replacement FAQs

How do I know which cartridges I need?

You do not need to — we hold the configuration for every system we install. Give us the installation address and we will match it. If your system was installed by someone else, send a photo of the housings and we will identify them.

Can I replace them myself?

For most systems, yes. Cartridges are designed for tool-free replacement and we include written and video instructions. Keep the supplied housing spanner nearby for the larger whole home canisters.

What happens to the old cartridges?

If a technician does the change-out, they take them with them. If you replace them yourself, spent cartridges can go in general waste — the outer housings are reused, not discarded.

Do I need to shut off the water?

Only the system. Close the bypass valve fitted at installation and the rest of the house keeps running normally while you work.

What if the pressure does not come back after a change?

Then something else is going on — most often a partially closed valve or an issue further upstream. Call us and we will talk it through before sending anyone out.

Not sure when yours was last changed?

Send us your installation address and we will check your service record and tell you exactly what is due.
